IR TV Review: THE TERMINAL LIST - DARK WOLF - EPISODE 7 (“The Wolf You Feed”) [Prime]

The context of a repercussion depends on the players holding the cards. For the season finale of "The Terminal List: Dark Wolf" entitled "The Wolf You Feed", it takes the aspect of the shootout at the end of the previous episode which demands some kind of retribution. Ben Edwards escapes in a certain way but thinks about what the next move is. The inset of the episode is all about that since there needs to be a plan in order to draw out the vipers. An interesting melee occurs but it shows the power of strategy that the Seal leadership possess but also the essence of loyalty beyond orders. The key in the structure has to do with belief. Edwards does know that there are certain lines he can't cross but data supports that above all else. The issue with him and the CIA which does lead into "The Terminal List" is how does he control the narrative. Havaford speaks of the greater good but in the end his notion of what is right is tainted by his experience.

"Dark Wolf" has a very different tone in certain ways than its mothership even in the way it handles Reece (Chris Pratt). It gives one a better context of the good times or at least those that made them feel alive and that they were doing the right thing. Certain people are lost along the way but that is the consequence of any high stakes operation. The question is what brings them back. There is a side of Edwards that won't be happy sailing the world. He wants in on some part of the action. Raife's trajectory might be different but some stories simply peter off. The finale does tidy up things in a lot of ways but there will always be messes. At one point a platoon commander does say that they will make sure to clean it up but everyone's perception of that differs. The final shot speaks to the balance between integrity, reality and the thoughts in between. The question is where Edwards is ready to live with it. B+
