Angel Studios is trying some interesting things with tone first with "Runner" and now "Angel And The Badman" trying to transform certain stereotype stories but with an undercurrent of faith or being good as a motif. Zachary Levi, who has had a curvy career lately, plays the lead here in Cort, a bad man who lives to steal though he seemingly makes some bad choices.

For a sequel that seemingly wasn't sure of the tone of the original, "Shazam! - Fury Of The Gods" as an overall approach is a hit-and-miss proposition. While the themes work, most of the narrative structure and progression is a bit muddled and messy.

Here the idea of a person of Mauritania (alas "The Mauritanian"), which actually is a country on the Northwest Coast of Africa next to Algiers, is accused of being one of the masterminds behind direct phone connections to Osama Bin Laden through a sat phone (and, by extension, to the 9/11 attacks).
